Marquita, I loved this piece! It is so true--attitude makes all the difference! There is so much we can learn if we are open to differences instead of being frightened by them. When I have encountered strange customs I have had fun asking myself, "Why does this work here?" "Why do people choose to do it this way, eat this food, etc." Usually I have discovered another very acceptable way of doing things. I think curiosity and genuine interest in others are important, as well as attitude. What do you think?

Well said. The same goes for just moving to a new location in your homeland. We have lived in various parts of the USA - larger cities and small towns. The population of our current town is 2,000! Sometimes it feels as if we have moved to a foreign country! A positive attitude and flexibility makes for a happier life no matter where you wander.

So true - we could all use the "good attitude" reminder even when living with what we're used to!

It was interesting to read your thoughts about attitude, and balancing moving out of your comfort zone while still holding onto your core beliefs. It is something I have been thinking about a lot just recently. Hope things continue to go well for you guys!
